Thursday Night Action

There was only one game on deck in the SJHL tonight and it saw the Estevan Bruins win their first game of the season as they downed the Notre Dame Hounds 6-3 in Wilcox.

Kealin Wong, who was the game's first stat, led the Bruins with two goals and one assist. Payden Benning also had a three point night for the Bruins as he had a goal and two assists. Brody Haygarth, Kyle Stroh and Kyle Ermel into an empty net also scored for Estevan. Bryan Hull, Tanner Vandesype and Eddie Gale replied for the Hounds. Karsten Felske made his first start of the season for the Bruins and stopped 24 of the 27 shots he faced. Antoine Desrosiers made his second start of the season for the Hounds and made 32 saves in the loss. The Bruins improve to 1-2 while the Hounds fall to 1-3 to start the season.

Good luck to the Wings this weekend and hope a few people can make it up to Saskatoon to cheer the guys on. Myself, I will be cheering Saturday night from Section 28 at Mosaic Stadium so here's to a Riders and Red Wings victory on Saturday night.
