Hounds Clip The Wings

The Notre Dame Hounds have moved to a perfect 2-0 record in there own tournament after defeating the Weyburn Red Wings 5-3 this evening in Weyburn. TJ Ahvenniemi, Rylan Schwartz, Alan Logue, Garret Ferguson and Tanner Vandesype scored for the Hounds. Dieter Gillanders had two assists with singles assists going to Cody Mapes, Grayson Brown, Vandesype, Tracis Janke, Brendan Dault and Logue. Andre Guay played the entire game for the Hounds in net turning aside 33 of 36 Weyburn shots.
Kyle Haines, Preston Shupe and Dylan Lawrence replied for the Wings. Jared Whincup, Joel Langevin, Craig Cornelsen, Scott Doody and Jared Smale added assists. Tanner Erickson played the first half of the game stopping 12 of 15 shots. Jamie Wutke played the second half and stopped 10 of the 12 shots he faced.
Dylan Lawrence also won a decisive battle over Brendan Dault of the Hounds while Kevin Paul stood up to Travis Montgomery falling a dirty knee by Montgomery earlier in the game. All in all a good spirited exhibition game with the Hounds winning tonight's battle. The teams will renew hostilities tomorrow night in Wilcox for a 7:30 start.
