It was a rough night for both Hounds tenders as Andre-Michel Guay allowed eight goals on only 28 shots in 36 minutes of play. The Hounds drop to 1-7-0-0 with the loss.

One has to think that Hounds head coach Mike Vandenberghe might be looking for some goaltending help after the two results so far this weekend. To make things tougher on the Hounds, they have to face the defending Credential Cup Champion Humboldt Broncos on Sunday night. It will be interesting to see how the Hounds respond to giving up 22 goals in the last two games.

The Estevan Bruins improved to 5-3-0-0 on Saturday night as they defeated the La Ronge Ice Wolves 6-3. Payden Benning, Kyle Ermel and Kyle Stroh (pictured left) all had a goal and an assist for the Bruins. Kyle Garagan added two goals, one of which was into an empty net. Vincein Scott was the other goal scorer for the Bruins as he had to eventual game winner at 8:14 of the second period. Kealin Wong added two assists for the Bruins. Jarrid Dowhay and Jordie Johnston each had a goal and an assist for the Ice Wolves. Calvin Fiddler also scored for the Wolves. Guillaume Perusse was in goal for the Bruins and made 30 saves. Brian Kaval stopped 32 shots in the La Ronge net. The Ice Wolves drop to 3-5 with the loss.

The Battlefords North Stars broke out of their losing streak as they defeated the Kindersley Klippers 6-4 on Saturday night. Nick Kalnicki (pictured left) made up for a slow start to the season as he had a goal and three assists for the Stars. Ryan Scheafer, Rick Cey and Jason Walker all had a goal and an assist for the Stars. Barrett Penner and Cory Demko also scored for the Stars who also got two assists from defenseman Matt Restoule. Kendall Holmes had a goal and an assist for Kindersley. Jeremy Beller, Jayde Dunser and Casey Rempel also scored for the Klippers. Ryan Kerpan made 31 stops to preserve the victory for Battlefords. Matt Weninger was chased from the net early in the first period after giving up 2 quick goals on 7 shots. Ryan Nieszner went the rest of the way for Kindersley and stopped 24 of the 27 shots he faced. The Stars are now 2-6-0-1. Kindersley drops to 4-3-0-0.
