Hounds Win Battle of the Dogs!

Their was only one game on the SJHL schedule on Monday night and it saw the host Notre Dame Hounds pick up there first win of the season as they snuck by the Yorkton Terriers 4-3. Travis Janke scored twice for the Hounds including the game winner at 18:54 of the second period. Tanner Vandesype and Eddie Gale also scored for the Hounds while Steven Robinson and Bryan Hull each had two assists.
Chris Bratina, Kyle Block and Jordan Pawelec all had a goal and an assist each for the Terriers who fall to 0-2-0-1 on the season. Andre-Michel Guay was solid in net for the Hounds as he picked up his first SJHL victory. Lynden Sammartino dropped his second start of the season to see his record fall to 0-1-0-1.

Tuesday night in the SJHL:

There are three games on tap on Tuesday night as your Weyburn Red Wings will start there mini two game road trip in Humboldt. Both teams are 2-0 to start the season. Elsewhere, the Terriers will be looking for their first win of the season as they host the 1-1 La Ronge Ice Wolves. The other game will see the Battlefords Stars in Nipawin to battle the Hawks. The Stars are looking for their first win on the season while the Hawks are 1-1 to start the year.
