Wings Receive Honorable Mention in National Rankings!

The Canadian Junior A Hockey League announced today the Top 15 rankings for the first time in the 2007 / 08 hockey season.

The time period considered for the first instalment of the rankings is from the start of the hockey season, until Saturday, September 29th. Future Top 15 rankings will be a weekly update, and can be found by clicking on the CJAHL website.

The CJAHL Top 15 as of Saturday, September 29th

2. Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL)
3. Melville Millionaires (SJHL)
4. Markham Waxers (OPJHL)
5. Le College Francais de Longueuil (LHJAAAQ)
6. Woodstock Slammers (MJAHL)
7. Nepean Raiders (CJHL)
8. Portage Terriers (MJHL)
9. Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL)
10. Fort William North Stars (SIJHL)
11. Drumheller Dragons (AJHL)
12. Newmarket Hurricanes (OPJHL)
13. Nanaimo Clippers (BCHL)
14. Humboldt Broncos (SJHL)

Honorable mention goes to the Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL), Fort McMurray Oil Barons (AJHL), Weyburn Red Wings (SJHL), Dauphin Kings (MJHL), Thunder Bay Bearcats (SIJHL), North Bay Skyhawks (NOJHL), Kingston Voyageurs (OPJHL), Brockville Braves (CJHL), Smiths Falls Bears (CJHL), Les Inouk de Granby (LHJAAAQ), and the Truro Bearcats (MJAHL).

The rankings are based upon a variety of factors which includes the league in which the teams belong to, their winning percentage, their win-loss record, total points accumulated, their goals-for versus goals-against ratio, amongst other factors.
