I didnt think McConnell can play at this level. He is too inconsistant. Like last night he was playing great until the third period. In order for the wings to be contenders they must find a goalie who can consistantly win games.

I don't think it's fair to pin the loss on McConnell. They need to have a whole team that can play at this level for a whole 60 minutes, and last night they sure didn't do that.

I agree, its not always the goaltender's fault! It takes a whole team to win a game.

why blame it on mcconnell? there was no help from the defence!! notre dame constantly had guys wide open in our end and nobody would go after them.

I agree that the blame shouldn't fully be put on McConnel. Our offense was fine, but the defense saw loads of 2 on 1's etc.

The thing I have noticed about McConnel is that he's good in the first 2 periods, then kinda lays back in the 3rd. Is he tired from the first 2 periods? Just a thought. He always moves slower in the 3rd.

that could be partly due to the fact that the entire team (more or less) comes into the third with less energy and grit.. and he gets worn out from them not being there. he faced 20 shots alone in the second period last night and only let one in. yes sometimes it seems as though he's a little inconsistent, but i think the whole team in general needs to work on playing hard for the whole 60 minutes and not giving up.
