Currie Makes Debut for Hounds!

The Estevan Bruins travelled to Notre Dame tonight for the second half of a home and home series with the Hounds. It was a new look Hounds as they made a deal with the Yorkton Terriers earlier in the day and Mark Currie and Chris Bratina made their Hound debuts tonight.
Currie was simply outstanding as he faced 50 shots including 23 in the third period allowing only three goals. Unfortunately for Currie and the Hounds, they could only get two pucks past Karsten Felske in the Bruins goal.

Kyle Ermel, Kyle Stroh and Kealin Wong each had a goal and an assist to lead the Bruins. Wong's goal was the winner at 11:57 of the third period. Payden Benning, Tiley Tetreault and Kyle Garagan added assists for the Bruins. Eddie Gale had a goal and an assist to lead the Hounds. Chris Smith also scored for Notre Dame. Brendon Dault added two assists in the loss. Chris Bratina did not figure in the scoring for the Hounds tonight. He had a minor penalty in the first period. The Bruins improve to 7-4-0-0 with the victory and are now one point ahead of the Red Wings for second place in the Sherwood Conference. The Hounds drop to 2-11-0-0 but have to be optimistic with the improvements between the pipes and should be a much tougher opponent as the new players begin to gel.

Tonight's Three Stars:
1. Mark Currie - Notre Dame Hounds (47 saves in Hounds debut)
2. Kealin Wong - Estevan Bruins (game winner, 2 points)
3. Kyle Stroh - Estevan Bruins (goal and an assist)

There is one game tomorrow night in the SJHL as Bryan Hull and the Yorkton Terriers will be in La Ronge to take on the Ice Wolves.
