Wings Add Offensive Punch and Physical Prescence in Pair of Deadline Moves!

The Weyburn Red Wings were busy on deadline day today as they have acquired two players in separate deals.

The Red Wings and Merritt Centennials of the BCHL hooked up on a deal that helped close the trade for goaltender Kyle McConnell from earlier in the season. The Red Wings have acquired 1987 born forward Eric Ruud from the Centennials. Ruud, a native of Lynden, Washington, had 51 points in 38 games with the Centennials. Ruud is 6' 2" 200 lbs and was the Centennials leading scorer at the time of the trade. He also has previous experience with the Prince George Spruce Kings and Langley Chiefs of the BCHL. Ruud was in his third BCHL season and has a career 130 points in 152 games played. At the time of writing it is not known if Ruud will be in the lineup for tomorrow night's game in Kindersley.

Meanwhile, the Red Wings looked to Northern Ontario for some grit as they have added 20 year old forward Justin Crockatt from the Fort William North Stars of the SIJHL for future considerations. Crockatt, who played in Fort William with former Red Wings Sean Bassingthwaite and Joel Langevin, had 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points in 29 games with the North Stars while amassing 219 penalty minutes in those 29 games. Crockatt is 6' 2" 205 lbs and is from Warren, Manitoba.

The Weyburn Red Wings would like to welcome Eric and Justin to the organization.

These look like a couple of very good additions for the playoffs.
With the way the team has been playing lately, along with these 2 players i think they will be tough to beat & will make a strong playoff run!
