The Weyburn Red Wings have brought some more depth to the forward ranks as they have dealt 1989 born defenseman Ethan Gardner to the Swan Valley Stampeders of the MJHL for 1989 born forward Wes Pawluk.
Pawluk, from Petersfield, Manitoba, had 4 goals and three assists this season in 23 games all played with the Selkirk Steelers. Pawluk was only traded to Swan Valley on Saturday night and did not play a game for the Stampeders. Pawluk already has a lot of playoff experience as he was part of the Steelers Anavet Cup winning team from last season and played in the Royal Bank Cup in Prince George, BC. Pawluk played in 4 games at the RBC and scored one goal.
Gardner, from Mortlach, Saskatchewan was acquired by the Red Wings over the summer from the Flin Flon Bombers in exchange for Jean-Sebastien Bergeron. He had three assists in 23 games played for the Red Wings. Gardner will be reunited with Jared Whincup who was dealt to the Stampeders last week.
We wish all the best to Ethan in the future and welcome Wes to Weyburn.

As Ethan's parents, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the Pederson's for opening their home to him. We would also like to thank Tanya for all her help, and especially Ron Rumball who made the transition smooth and showed why the Red Wings are a first class organization. Ethan got very close to his teammates while there and will miss them all - he believes they have the talent to go all the way and wishes them the very best.
apparently Pawluk is not reporting to Weyburn.
