SJHL FORWARD OF THE MONTH
Winner: Jordie Johnston, La Ronge Ice Wolves
Highlights: Johnston led all SJHL players with 12-goals and 14-assists in 12-games during the month of November. Johnston was a model of consistency, getting a point in all twelve games during the month. In fact, Johnston is riding a 17-game point scoring streak at the time of this writing. Johnston had a hat trick against Kindersley on November 2nd and he also had a 5-assist game on November 28th against the Battlefords North Stars.
Runners-up: Jarrid Dowhay, La Ronge; Pierre-Luc Boucher, Flin Flon; Reid MacLeod, Flin Flon; Bruno-Pier Gosselin, La Ronge; Ryan Sawka, Kindersley.
SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE MONTH
Winner: Riley Clark, Melfort Mustangs
Highlights: Clark had a very strong month as he anchored what is an exceptional blueline in Melfort to a stretch of 17 straight games in which the Mustangs picked up a point, including a 10 game winning streak. He also aided the offense with 4-goals and 5-assists in 11-games. Clark, who skates very well and has a good shot from the point, is a tough player to play against as his man to man coverage during the Mustangs' streak may have been the area where he was most impressive.
Runners-up: Tyler Karst, La Ronge; Conner Krukowski, Weyburn; Blair Toms, Nipawin; Tanner Vandesype, Notre Dame; Gabriel Carle, Estevan.
SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH
Winner: Ilia Ejov, Melfort Mustangs
Highlights: With all due respect to Matt Weninger, who simply didn't play enough to earn the nod, Ejov was the top goalie in the league during the month of November as he went 9-and-1 with a 1.76-GAA and a .929-SPCT. The mere arrival of Ejov on the Mustangs has resulted in a complete about-face in their confidence level and style of play. Ejov had 1 shutout and he had seven other games in which he allowed two goals or less.
Runners-up: Matt Weninger, Kindersley; Calvin Bartel, Flin Flon; AJ Whiffen, Weyburn; Lynden Sammartino, Yorkton; Taylor Nelson, Humboldt.
SJHL ROOKIE OF THE MONTH
Winner: Rhett Bly, Weyburn Red Wings
Highlights: On a team with plenty of high profile player, it was Bly who stepped up and made the most noise during the month of November as far as first year players are concerned. Bly fired six goals and three assists in 12-games played. His biggest game came in the first game of the month when he had 2-goals and 1-assist in a contest against Humboldt. For the season, Bly has 9-goals and 5-assists in 24-games.
Runners-up: Adam Moar, La Ronge; Brody Haygarth, Estevan; Rylan Schwartz, Notre Dame; Mike Rey, Nipawin; Travis Janke, Notre Dame.
