The Flin Flon Bombers provided a much tougher opposition on Easter Sunday night in Humboldt but could not find a way to beat Broncos goaltender Taylor Nelson as Humboldt won by a score of 2-0.
Nelson made 22 saves for the shutout. Shawn Hunter scored 8:07 into the first period and that was the only goal the Broncos would need on their way to victory. Scott Schroeder and Tanner Vandesype assisted on the goal. Eddie Gale added an empty netter from Brayden Klimosko with two seconds remaining to seal the win. Carsen Chubak was spectacular in defeat as he made 38 saves in the Flin Flon goal. The Bombers are leaning on Chubak now as Calvin Bartel was injured in the series versus Melfort. The series shifts to Flin Flon now for games three and four on Wednesday and Thursday night. The Bombers will most likely be a much tougher team to play at the Whitney Forum.

Bombers in 5 heh?
Seems the series is 2-0 Broncos, I think i'm going to call a 4 straight for Humboldt.
& am also going to call a 4 straight win for the Broncos when they play the Sherwood winner.
Broncos are a powerhouse, just like the Wings will be next yr.
I have to agree with the previous blogger... only I think that one team 'might' take 1 game from the Broncos. It also pains me to say this (my affiliation is to another SJHL team) but Weyburn will have a very strong team in 08/09. It will be interesting to see which 1988's are going to be moved by the Wings organization - I think there are close to a dozen potential returnees and some will have to go...
If the Mustangs hadn't run Bartel and injured him this series would be 2-1 Bombers. Everyone thinks the Bombers are done but believe me, this series is far from over. Bombers in 7. Just wait, ill be the one who says i told u so. Wings wont be near the team flin flon is next year! I Guarantee it
